EMDR : Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

This technique works on the premise that negative life experiences or traumas are those which upset the biochemical balance of the brain's physical information processing system. This means that the result of trauma can be disturbed perceptions, emotions, beliefs and meanings from the traumatic experience which are in effect “locked” in the nervous system. EMDR's rhythmic intervention has been identified as a tool that can finally process blocked material.
